The Westmoreland police arrested and charged 11 persons for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act after they were reportedly found at an illegal birthday party at a resort in West End, Negril in the parish on Monday night.
Reports are that about 11:45 pm, the police conducted a targeted raid at the premises, where they found the 11 persons, including three females, at the illegal birthday party.
They were subsequently taken to the Negril Police Station, where they were arrested and charged with breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act.
The Westmoreland police arrested a total of 29 persons for breaching the Act over the Easter weekend lockdown.
The Easter weekend was the second of three consecutive weekend lockdowns announced by the Government with the aim of reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Jamaica.
